Miscellaneous old photos & postcards of Great Shelford

This photo from the past (sometime in 1950's) shows a B17 class loco 61663 Everton waiting at a signal to come onto the main line at Great Shelford from the Haverhill branch line, having worked a train from Colchester. The pic was taken by the late David Hepburne-Scott from the bridge in London Road. The bungalows are in Leeway Avenue and would be No 36, 38 and 40 now hidden behind trees that have grown up on the embankment. John Wakefield
