New warden needed for Great Shelford

The Great Shelford Mobile Warden Scheme is an asset valued by the elderly residents of our village. Their aim is to help our members remain in their own home. They achieve this by providing daily phone calls, regular visits to help with shopping, post office collections, management of prescriptions and undertaking other essential jobs in the local area. As well as carrying out small tasks for example as helping members carry out instructions from medical services or changing a light bulb, the Scheme helps the elderly maintain social contact and therefore reduce the risk of isolation and depression.

The Scheme is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Warden to join their team. The job is based over three days per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with phone calls every other weekend. In addition, there is a brief weekly hand over with the other part-time warden.

A degree of flexibility is required for this role. Hours of work: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 1pm Saturday and Sunday 9am-10/10.30am (Phone calls) Rate of pay is £10 per hour. Experience of working with the elderly an advantage but not essential. The role is based in and covers the area of Great Shelford.
