The photo was taken in 1906, and features mill owner Alexander Pearce sitting in the middle with his legs crossed. Sitting to his right is his son Ernest. A full list of names can be seen in the comments.

Alexander Pearce was born in 1846, in Shepreth, Cambridgeshire, to Joseph Ellis Pearce and Harriet Nixon. His father was a miller and the family lived at the mill in the village. By 1861 the family lived at The Mill, Hauxton, Cambridgeshire.

In 1874 he married Florence Ann Veal.

In 1881 the family lived at The Mill House, Great Shelford. Alex was listed as master of the mill employing five men and three boys. They had five children, Percy, Ernest, Edith, Winifred, and Harold.

By 1891 they had three more children, Muriel, Ruby, and Dorothy.

In 1901 they lost their son Percy "GREAT SHELFORD. Obituary.—We regret to announce the death of Mr. P. M. Pearce, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Pearce, of Great Shelford, which occurred about February 6th, at Colombo, Ceylon. Much sympathy is felt for Mr, and Mrs. Pearce their bereavement."

The 1911 census is the first census where the property is named as King’s Mill. Alexander and his son, Ernest, are listed as flour millers. Wilfred is a bank clerk and Dorothy a school teacher. The family also had two servants.

Alexander passed away on the 7th of November 1919, aged 72.
